SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

Applicants MUST BE SSSCU members and applications MUST BE received by the Credit Union via email by 11:59 pm on Sunday, March 22nd, 2020. Applications that are mailed or dropped off at an SSSCU location must be postmarked or received by Saturday, March 21st, 2020 as branch locations are closed on Sundays. Incomplete applications, late postmarks, and late submissions will be disqualified. The selection will be announced by the scholarship committee and awarded at the SSSCU Annual Membership Meeting on April 25, 2020. 

Selection will be based upon the criteria set out below. Eight $2,000 scholarships are awarded each year (Arlene Parkinson, Bart Roche, Leonard Petoske, William Moore, Terry Mannion, Harold McKay, Andrew Hunter, and People Over Profit (POP) Foundation Scholarships) — all are renewable for up to four years. The following documents must be completed and attached to the application:

Questions

  • Application form with Credit Union association documented (member account number)
  • SAT and/or ACT scores
  • Copy of the student’s transcript
  • Recommendation letter from a teacher
  • Recommendation letter from a community member or employer
  • Recommendation letter from a high school counselor

*Scholarship is paid out $2,000 annually upon receipt of transcripts, showing a maintained college grade point average of 3.0.

Our scholarship program is designed for members and their children, graduating from an accredited high school within the state of Nevada in 2020.
